Website Research
this is a cheer movie. the colors are bright fun and perky like cheerleading is. it is easy to navigate. though i do think that there is a lot going on this one page, everything is spaced out, not too cluttered. i like the overall layout of the page, however, i would not include so much on the home page.
http://www.notanothermovie.com/
this is more along the lines of what i would want to do for my website. there is one main image, keeping it simple, with a navigation bar leading to more detailed parts of the site. though this one doesn't have the same theme as my video, i like the style and layout of the page much better.

Color Pallete
FF1168
25020F
i chose these colors for my pallete because there is a good contrast, yet the colors share the same temperature range. looking at these colors together is easy on the easy and nothing causes the viewer's eye to be interrupted.

Movie Poster

i chose to keep the poster simple because some of the best movie posters had very simple, but powerful elements. the only place where there is a difference is the uniform which makes it a focal point. i gave the title an arch to give the illusion that its heavy and the cheerleader is holding it up. i used this font because its bold, fun, and heavy and i chose the same color as in the uniform to keep some uniformity. i primarily used masking techniques. i also used a fill to make the body of the cheerleader purple.

Business Cards
Creative/Entertaining
For the serious business card, i used classic, neutral colors, the font color complimenting the picture and the background. The font is legible and not too playful. i used the picture of the capital to draw in more professional clients, and the quote which invites everybody to my company. for the creative one, i used much more vibrant colors and a party scene. this show the more social side of PR.

HPU CHEER
i chsoe the shots that i did because i wanted to show the 'behind the scenes' of cheerleading at HPU. Most of the time we feel like the least valued team here based on the time that we put into our sport. i wanted to use a variety of images, so i decided to use a mis of photos and videos, to capture more things in a condense timeframe.
i started the video off with the poms because i wanted a solid attention grabber, and that is not what one would typically expect, drawing the audience in. for the weight room scene, i started far away so that everyone can get a glimpse of most of the girls and most of the weight room; very active and busy. i moved in closer to keep the flow of the video orderly, moving the focus from the entire room, to one specific girl. i go back to a wide view, using a match cut.
during the stunting/practice sequence, i used these shots because there were a variety of angles, as well as a variety of different stunts, showing the range of the squad. i used a flip transition because it was quick and bold, showing a clear deviation from the instense workouts and practices to a lighter, introduction of the team.
for this section i was very limited with the footage and i did not want to switch back and forth between still and live shots, just for the sake of neatness and organization. with that in mind, i used a cominbation of bright and dull images in a conisistant patteren, using different angles, showing the many heights and dimensions of cheerleading. to end the video, i used still photos as my conclusion, allowing the audience's eyes to settle and absorb everything that they just watched.
i chose the music that i did because it was a constant, busy, beat that really worked well with the progression of the video. for the narration, i used a little comedy, to show that we have a lot of fun working hard. i decided to have no voice over during the introduction of the team because i feel like it would have been too congested. the breaks from talking allow the audiance to just watch, insteading of watching and listening.
i keep the same font throughout the entire video for neatness and to limit distraction. i used one animation in addition to the basic title, for some pizazz.

Video Proposal
I was going to make it a general video but since we have to keep in short, I think I will focus on HPU Cheer.
In the video I can highlight the member of the team, what they do now, what they plan to do in the future.

Kodak Compostition
This picture is an example of balance. The subject of the picture is slightly off center to emhasize the strain and the weight of the world. The fact that the globe is not compeltely in the frame gives the impression of its great mass and weight.
This picture illustrates the principle of the rule of thirds. The bridge and the shadow are the two main subjects of the photo. The bridge is in the highest third of the frame, and the shadow is in the middle of the left-most third.
Here is an example of lines. The sidewalk is lined with the benches and those are also lined with the flags. All three components make the photo easy to look at because it gives direction for the eye to follow.
Finally, this picture is an example of simplicity. All the detail is in the clock and not the background, making it easy to look at.
